Scams.
These are
generally done by email, from someone posing to be from Microsoft.
Messages like this aren't from Microsoft, but from someone
wanting to gain control of your computer. Microsoft does not email
patches, and the attachment isn't a valid file. Do not run the attachment
and delete the message.

email received 9.19.03.
This message had been sent a week prior, but as a text based email.
This was the first message posing to be an actual web page from
Microsoft.
Other scams:
- Screenshot
of an email, supposedly from Visa. The 'link' went to a website
that didn't have anything to do with Visa.
- Free money is an another
big scam; usually its an email claiming to be from Nigeria. There's
a new one going around saying you're a lotto
winner (PDF file).
- Banking scams are
also big- here's one supposedly from CitiBank
(PDF file).
- A scam
involving Paypal.
